DR-100

DR-100 is the first pilot project in Thailand, under initiative and support of the Energy Policy and Planning Office (EPPO), Ministry of Energy, to explore technical feasibility of real-time Demand Response (DR) concept by actual implementation of a central load aggregator with 100 households across the 4 regions (Northern, Northeastern, Central and Eastern, and Southern) of Thailand. Each household will be equipped with Home Energy Management System (HEMS), designed and developed in house by SGRU research team. In this project, HEMS mainly comprises of smart meters, room environment sensors, and air control unit, together with software web and mobile application for the house owner’s monitoring. Over the performance evaluation period, several DR test commands had been issued with the size of DR request ranging from 8 – 10 kW (20%  of total controllable load at the testing time). Test results confirm preliminary success at this stage, where expansion of the project has been put in future plan of EPPO.
